OPENWIREVPN

A free WireGuard client for Apple TV.
No accounts. No subscriptions. No tracking.

How it works FAQ
Private by design

Your tunnel. Nobody else's.

A VPN sees every packet you send. OpenWireVPN is a client only — no accounts, no backend, and no idea who you are. Configs stay on your Apple TV. The only traffic is your tunnel.

No tracking

No analytics, no crash reporters, no third-party SDKs. The app makes zero network requests of its own — the only traffic is your tunnel.

Your server, your keys

Bring your own WireGuard endpoint. Configs live on your Apple TV and go nowhere else.

Free to use

No ads, no trial nag, no unlock inside the app. Point it at your WireGuard endpoint and go.

How it works

Three steps, then it's out of your way.

01

Add a config

Fetch a standard wg-quick .conf from a URL or short code, or type it in with the remote. Apple TV has no camera — we designed around it.

02

Connect

The app hands your config to a native tvOS packet tunnel running WireGuard® — the same fast, modern, audited protocol used everywhere else.

03

Watch

All of your Apple TV's traffic flows through your tunnel until you turn it off. That's it. That's the app.

Questions

The short version.

Q

Do I need my own VPN server?

Yes — OpenWireVPN is a client. Point it at any WireGuard endpoint: a VPS you run, your home router, or any provider that hands out standard WireGuard configs.

Q

What data do you collect?

None. There is no account and no analytics. The app does not phone home.

Q

Which devices?

Apple TV HD and 4K running tvOS 17 or later.
